Newborn Instructions:
Call Dr. LeDuc immediately if your baby:
- will not eat
- will not stop crying for more than 3 hours
- has a fever of greater than or equal to 100.4 degrees rectally
- Do not take temperatures randomly. The more you hold your baby, the more you will be able to recognize when he/she feels warmer than usual. If your baby feels warm, unwrap him/her, remove diaper, and wait 3 minutes. Then take a temperature with a rectal thermometer.
- does not have 6 wet diapers after the 5th day of life
- appears yellow in color (whites of eyes and color of skin from head to toe)
