Choosing Your Pediatrician

Choosing a pediatrician for your child is one of the first decisions you will make as a new parent. We offer monthly meet and greets for new parents as well as families looking for a new pediatrician for their children. They occur on the third Wednesday of every month at 5:00 PM and are a great opportunity to meet us, tour the office, and learn about how we can partner with you as parents in your child's health and wellness. Call our office to sign-up for our next session.

What to Expect After Arrival

While at the hospital, your baby will get a variety of important tests, including a hearing screen, the newborn metabolic screen, and possibly tests for jaundice. The Hepatitis B vaccination will also be offered. Healthy newborns are typically discharged within 48 hours of birth (vaginal delivery), and 72 hours of birth (C-section delivery).

  • Within 24 hours after birth, a pediatric hospitalist will examine your baby. Discharge papers will be provided to you. Please bring these important papers to your first well child checkup at CPW. Call to schedule this first visit BEFORE you are discharged from the hospital. The first visit is usually 3 days after discharge.
  • Dr. LeDuc no longer sees babies born at home.

Insurance Coverage

Once your baby is born, contact your insurance carrier to add your child to your plan. In addition, call your employer to begin the registration process. If these two things are not done as soon as possible with the correct information (names, date of birth), you may get billed for your first few visits with us. Let them know you have chosen Dr. Elizabeth LeDuc at the Center for Pediatric Wellness as your pediatrician.
